Our founder was diagnosed with Stage IV MBC in 2015 and made a brave vow that cancer would not define her. She saw hair loss as just one part of the journey and discovered that wigs could be fun and easy, and most importantly, a source of confidence. Inspired by her experience, she established Twisted Wig to help others find their hair confidence too.
We care about our clients, whom we like to call our "Twisted Humans". We offer consultations, both online and in person (for those in the DFW area). We also provide unique services such as subscription services, local wig delivery service within the Dallas/Ft Worth area, and sponsorships for those in need of alternative hair.
Understanding Wigs: Caps and Fiber Types
One of the most common questions we encounter is about wig caps, particularly differentiating between lace front and basic caps. It might seem complicated, but the answer is rather straightforward: If you prefer full blunt style bangs, go for a basic cap. For everything else, a lace front cap is the best choice.
Having the right wig cap can make all the difference between a daily wig and a “never” wig. We are here to help you find the perfect one!
Wigs also differ in terms of fiber types, each with its own advantages:
- Synthetic fiber: This is the most inexpensive and low maintenance of all "hair" fibers. Curls and waves do not need to be reset, making synthetic-fiber wigs a great option for everyday wear.
- Heat friendly synthetic wigs: These wigs can withstand heat up to 275° Fahrenheit and are more cost-effective than human hair wigs.
- Human hair: The most natural-looking fiber used in wigs and hairpieces. It can be styled and tinted as with natural, growing hair. However, they are also more expensive than synthetic fiber.
